Our History

Darun-Na'im Academy was established in 2009 as Darun-Na'im Girls High School.

Three families joined together to share their knowledge and expertise to educate their children in an environment where their children would imbibe the Islamic ethos and promote its values.

As a small independent school, we focused on the well-being, moral training and nurturing of our learners.

The importance of ensuring the moral training of the children, was the driving force and main motivator as the families were determined to protect their children and secure quality academic education.

The teaching environment would be more of a home school… but as Allāh SWT willed, the families were guided down a path that would culminate in the establishment of a bona fide school!

The school started out small with very basic equipment, on an extremely low budget and was initially housed in two rooms at Darun-Na’im Masjid.

Now, almost 15 years later Darun-Na’im Academy is registered with the Department of Education, is a registered matric exam centre and holds full accreditation with UMALUSI. The school has made many wonderful strides over the past few years and has grown from 12 learners in 2009 to 123 learners in 2023!

Parent

Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu. We have been with Darun Na’im Academy since 2015. I have two daughters that graduated from Darun Na’im Academy, one daughter currently enrolled and a son joining next year Inshallah. As a parent in these modern trying times, I wanted my children to receive a good secular and Islamic education in an environment that does not compromise their values as Muslims. This is exactly what Darun Na’im Academy offered. An environment that aligns with the teachings and values I wish to instill in my children: discipline, good akhlaaq and modesty. I never have to worry about my children at school because I know they are in a safe space with teachers that care for and support them endlessly. Alhamdulillah, looking at my daughters that graduated already I can see the positive impact Darun Na’im Academy has had on their lives and I thank Allah first and then the school for the help in shaping them into confident and capable young adults. Inshallah I wish this for my other two children and for every other parent’s child. Jazakallah Khair

Parents

As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah As a family with strong Islamic beliefs and values we wanted a school for our daughters that not only compliments this but reinforces strong Islamic values. With guidance of the Almighty we found this in Darun-Na’im Girls High (now Darun Naim Academy). Having been involved with the school over the last 12 years, we as parents as well as our daughters have no regrets in our choice of school. Darun Naim Academy is an amazing school for the young developing Muslimah. The school provides holistic growth to the inspiring young minds with valuable Islamic guidance. It also allows the learners to adopt a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards education which creates a great learning environment. Alhamdulillah. The schools’ morals and values are based on Qur’an and Sunnah developing haya (modesty) and humility in our young girls. The staff’s strong work ethic, attention and commitment to its learners has produced outstanding results with a 100% matric pass rate since their inception. This speaks volumes of the school’s dedication to their learners. Alhamdulillah.
