Spiritual Journey
Benefits of studying Allāh's Dīn
At Darun-Na'im, special attention is given to the fostering of the necessary love and brotherhood that our Dīn requires from us.
As the teachers journey through the Holy Qur’ān with their students they find that it provides the perfect platform for developing and growing this love
Establish a life long relationship with the Holy Qur’ān through reciting, understanding and practicing.
Your recitation of the Holy Qur’ān will never be the same again after having acquired the ability to read and understand simultaneously.
After building the foundation of your understanding of Islam from the best of sources - The Holy Qur’ān, your journey continues by learning Allāh's laws derived from Qur’ān and Sunnah
There are 4 main categories of subjects that are taught, assisting you in your journey in living a life that is pleasing to Allāh.
1. Aqīdah
In this subject, you will learn what is correct and incorrect when attributing anything to Allāh, His messengers, the Angels and everything else we believe in as Muslims
Correct Aqīdah is what makes us Muslims; capable of living lives that may please Allāh SWT. No amount of good deeds can replace the necessity of having correct and sound Aqīdah.
2. Fiqh
Fiqh is a vast category of subjects containing all the laws of Islam derived from Qur’ān and Sunnah.
In these subjects we learn how to do our actions of worship in a manner that is pleasing to Allāh SWT. Anyone is capable to remembering and worshiping Allāh, but what better way is there than the way He taught us Himself.
The following subjects are taught under fiqh:
Ṭahārah, Ṣalāh, Ṣiyām, Mīrāth, Ḥajj, Nikāḥ, Ṭalāq, Bai’, Zakāh.
3. Musṭalaḥ & Ūsūl Al-Fiqh
Musṭalaḥ teaches us everything we need to know regarding engaging Ḥadīth within Islām. For example, at which point is a narration accepted or rejected, how Ḥadīth are graded and much more.
Ūsūl Al-Fiqh on the other-hand teaches us how rules and laws are derived from Qur’ān and Sunnah. This gives us the benefit of understanding how scholars understood narrations of our Prophet SAW and the verses of Allāh SWT.
Both of these subjects are imperative for us to understand, without it, it is not possible to truly appreciate the efforts of our scholars through the ages, nor be able to engage Qur’ān and Ḥadīth correctly.
4. The life of our Prophet SAW
Everything that we know about Allāh SWT and Islām has been conveyed to us through The Prophet SAW. Without him, it would not be possible for us to worship Allāh SWT in a manner pleasing to Him, and hence attain the promised reward.
Therefore, by studying his life, we not only attain many valuable life lessons that we can apply in our own life, but also see what is the best and moderate way of living which Allāh SWT loves.
There are 3 subjects which focuses of teaching different aspects of the life of The Prophet SAW.
1. Ḥadīth - Here, we learn directly from the words and advices of The Prophet SAW that he mentioned to his Ṣaḥābah RA.
2. Sīrah - This is the biography of The Prophet SAW. Here, we learn what The Prophet SAW went through in his lifetime, and how he responded to them, pleasing Allāh SWT
3. Shamā'il - This subject teaches the physical attributes of The Prophet SAW, starting with how he looked, and later discussing other attributes of his life, such as: his favourite food, clothing he wore, his habits in eating or sleeping and much more.
