Hear From Our Past Students
Connecting hearts to Allāh SWT for over 20 years
The amazing journey through the entire Qur’ān not only connects the hearts of the students with Allāh SWT, but also the hearts of the students with each other and the hearts of students with their teachers

My daughter and I enrolled in 2018, my intention was to give her moral support. However, my attitude and intention changed, as I realized that Allāh SWT had chosen me to attend the course. Subḥānallāh the impact of an environment where one learns about the Greatness of Allāh SWT and the Eternal Miracles of the Qur’ān, is invaluable. The experience was so fulfilling that I enrolled and completed 2nd year. I highly recommend the course and with the permission of Allāh I would like to do it again.

My decision to enrol for the two-year program at Darun-Na'im was based on my intention to improve my connection with The Holy Qur’ān. Very dedicated and passionate teaching staff and the tranquil environment of the masjid made my learning experience very very special. I found my journey with the Qur’ān at Darun-Na'im a positive life changing experience Alḥamdulillāh.

The journey of learning Allāh’s message is the greatest gift, and I am so grateful that through this course I could sit with His words every day, wanting to know more of the beauty of Islam, wanting so desperately to better myself, and wanting Allāh. I wish that I could redo first year every year, because there is nothing that can prepare you for sitting with this access to tazkiyah. It is the best thing that a person can do for themselves straight after high school, or at any age.

My experience at Darun-Na’im was nothing short of amazing and life changing, Alḥamdulillāh. The institute and its teachers are indeed a Raḥmah and Nūr to the community. One feels extremely blessed to sit at the feet of its humble teachers who guides one on the path of birr thereby reminding you of how blessed and chosen you are to be sitting with Allāh's Kalām.

Darun-Na’im is more than just a madrasa. It is a place where students can grow and develop both academically and spiritually. The teachers at Darun-Na’im treat their students like family, and they are always there to offer guidance and support. I would highly encourage students of all ages to attend Darun-Na’im and work on their most important relationship: the one they have with Allāh.

Class of 2020
My name is Faika Fredericks. I am a mother of three children. For a long time, I longed to attend a further Islamic Studies class, but my life was just so busy. Alḥamdulillāh, in 2019, a beautiful opportunity was presented to me.
My son and I registered at Darun-Na’im for a one-year Arabic Course. It is described as a study of Arabic grammar, etymology, and a cover-to-cover translation of the verses of the Holy Qur’ān. It is essentially aimed at students who have just completed matric but is open to all. The only requirement is that you can read the Qur’ān.
While this definition of the course is correct, I found it to be SO MUCH MORE than that, SUBḤĀNALLĀH. We often pay so much attention to our physical and financial well-being but neglect our spiritual well-being. We don't realise that our souls are starving and in need of nourishment.
This course takes you on an unforgettable journey through the Holy Qur’ān. A journey where we get to know our Creator and how to worship Him alone. And through this, we have an opportunity to remove the rust from our hearts, Subḥānallāh.
I experienced and witnessed many benefits from this course. I was blessed to learn at the feet of esteemed teachers, sitting in a ṣuḥbah with fellow students who were on the same journey. The friendships I made in this class reminds me of the friends we make on Hajj. It is based and moulded in our mutual love for Allāh SWT. Alḥamdulillāh.
All my children took a year or two off after matric to study Dīn. My son enrolled at Darun-Na’im and my daughters at the sister institution, The Zahraa Institute. That was one of the best decisions my husband and I made, Alḥamdulillāh. Our youth face many challenges today, many of which we are often not aware of and cannot relate to. It is so important that they solidify their identity as Muslims before they embark on post matric studies at any of our colleges or universities. Being grounded in their identity as Muslims, help them navigate through these challenges.
My advice to all parents with children in high school, is to consider and encourage them to attend Darun-Na’im after matric and before going to college or university. It is one of the best investments we can make for our children and ourselves.

I could not have imagined that joining Darun-Na’im in 2021 would produce such a profound shift in my heart, mind, and life. First year entailed the journey of finding Allāh through the Qur’ān with giving a basic understanding of the Arabic language. Despite my initial aim to stay for only one year, first year left me so hungry for more that made leaving out of the question. I discovered things that I had no idea I needed to know. However, it was clear that what we were learning were only the fundamentals of being a Muslim. I would strongly suggest the course to any Muslim.

The knowledge gained and having been afforded the opportunity to study my Dīn at Darun-Na’im is an experience on another level. Learning from teachers that have so much knowledge, experience, passion, and love for spreading Islām is an amazing journey. May Allāh grant all my teachers over the past 2 years the health, strength, and ability to spread their knowledge for His sake. I will forever be grateful for being afforded this opportunity by the Grace of Allāh Alḥamdulillāh.
